| Welcome to my fotopic site, 'diesel image gallery' I hope that you will enjoy browsing the images. The images are a combination of those that I have taken myself and from my collection. New material is always required, either 35mm colour slides or negatives. The collection features images from all over the country but will have a slight bias to Scotland. The copyright of all the images belongs to me, however should you require to use any of them for publication use please contact me. At present I regret that I cannot supply prints. I hope that you enjoy looking at the images as much as I have in taking and collecting them. |

Computer screens are not best suited to viewing portrait style images. Even more annoying when you hoped to see a good shot filling the screen. Turning the monitor through 90 degrees is fine but a bit inconvenient. This then will be the gallery with all those annoying upright images.

 | April 2nd, 2007 | Nameplates
I have always had a fascination for locomotive nameplates possibly from the desire to own one but with the knowledge that I will never be able to afford one. Here is a selection from my ever increasing collection of nameplate slides and negatives.

During September, October and November 2006/7 because of engineering work on the East Coast Mainline GNER week-end services were diverted via the West Coast Mainline to Carlisle and then through the Tyne Valley to Newcastle. This is a selection of images taken between Beattock Summit and Carstairs during several Saturdays of the diverted services. As is to be expected the weather conditions varied from full dull, pouring rain, to full sun.

 | May 5th, 2006 | Settle & Carlisle
The 72 miles between Settle and Carlisle provide a lasting tribute to the Midland Railway and the skill of the Victorian engineers responsible for building the line. Between Dumfries and Cumnock the Glasgow and South Western route runs through the valley of the River Nith. The line twists and turns through some superb scenery affording some fine locations for photographs.

The West Coast Mainline still offers a good variety of services to provide an interesting selection of photo opportunities. Southward from Carstairs the line passes through some of the most picturesque locations, where I can regularly be found by the lineside.
